OLD TOWN Mission

Old
Town represents the begining of the modern era of San Diego. With the Spanish
landing and building a fort and mission on the hill overlooking the harbor in
1769, the original city of San Diego grew beneath the hill. When the city moved
to be near the harbor in the 1800s, this location became 'Old Town'. Today it is a flourishing collection of shops, restaurants, hotels and historical attractions. | ||||
